Today, after Qualcomm announced the second-generation Snapdragon 8 mobile platform, ZTE and its Nubia announced that the first new flagships will be equipped with the second-generation Snapdragon 8 mobile platform (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2).
The names of the new flagships from ZTE and Nubia have not yet been announced. Considering the product plans of both brands, the new models with the second-generation Snapdragon 8 mobile platform are expected to be the iterations of the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra and Nubia Z40S Pro.
When talking about the new flagship of the second-generation Snapdragon 8 mobile platform, Ni Fei, president of ZTE’s terminal business unit and president of Nubia Technology Co., Ltd., said that the new product is coming soon, and said, “Stay tuned.”
The second-generation Snapdragon 8 mobile platform adopts a 4nm process and is a new 1+2+2+3 architecture, including a 3.2GHz Kryo super core based on Cortex-X3, four 2.8GHz Performance cores (2×Cortex A715+ 2×Cortex A710) and three 2.0GHz Cortex-A510 energy efficiency cores.
In addition, the second-generation Snapdragon 8 uses the Snapdragon X70 5G modem and RF system integrated with Qualcomm’s 5G AI processor. It is also the first Snapdragon mobile platform to support 5G+5G / 4G dual-card dual-pass.
