ZOTAC GeForce RTX 4090 Graphics Card Leaks, Huge Quad-Slot Monster

ZOTAC’s next generation NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 AMP Extreme graphics cards have leaked out, featuring a futuristic design with a huge heatsink that takes up four slots. The cards appear to be coming out of a graphics card production facility, and it looks like the ZOTAC GeForce RTX 4090 AMP Extreme is particularly conspicuous and an absolute beast.

The card is at least four slots large and features a custom PCB design with a PCIe Gen 5.0 (12VPWHR) plug, other than that we can’t give any other details, but the cooler shroud extends beyond the PCB, meaning NVIDIA is once again using a compact PCB layout for its flagship graphics card.

In the image above, we can see that the ZOTAC GeForce RTX 4090 package touts some known features such as the Icestorm 3.0 iteration, with version 2.0 being used on older RTX 30 series cards. The card also comes with the latest Spectra 2.0 RGB lighting suite, support for Firestorm tools, dual BIOS design and Freeze 0dB fan technology.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 will use 128 SMs out of 144 SMs for a total of 16,384 CUDA cores. The GPU will come with 96MB of L2 cache and a total of 384 ROPs. The clock speed has not been confirmed, but given that the TSMC 4N process is being used, we expect the clock to be in the 2.0-3.0GHz range.

As for memory specifications, the GeForce RTX 4090 is expected to feature 24GB of GDDR6X capacity running at 21Gbps on a 384-bit bus interface. This will provide a bandwidth of 1TB/s. This is the same bandwidth as the existing RTX 3090 Ti card. In terms of power consumption, the TBP is said to be rated at 450W, which means that the TGP could end up below that value. The card will be powered by a 16-pin connector that can deliver up to 600W of power. We will likely get a custom design with 500W or more, like we saw with the RTX 3090 Ti.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series cards, including the RTX 4080 and RTX 4070 cards, will be the first cards other than the RTX 4090 to be released to gamers. So far, the RTX 4090 is expected to launch on October 22, but is expected to be unveiled during NVIDIA’s GTC keynote later this month.
