Xiaomi Senior Vice President Zeng Xuezhong recently presented three thoughts on the future of imaging at the Future 2022. He also revealed that Xiaomi’s next-generation AI-ISP chip will be a significant improvement on C1 (its own ISP imaging chip, Peng C1).

At the summit, Zeng Xuezhong, Director of the Engineering Research Centre and Senior Vice President of Xiaomi Group, presented three points of reflection on the future of imaging: in the direction of multi-dimensional sensing and enhanced imaging, broadening the dimensions of image sensing and breaking through the limits of vision; in the field of AI-enabled, computational photography, using AI algorithms to deeply combine with hardware and break through the limits of hardware; in the field of image interconnection and computational interoperability technology, using interconnected In the field of image interconnection and computing interoperability technology, we use interconnected computing to break the limits of image acquisition and computing.

In terms of thinking about the future of imaging, Zeng Xuezhong mentioned Xiaomi’s next-generation ISP chip, according to him, Xiaomi’s next-generation AI-ISP chip will be a significant improvement on C1 (its own ISP imaging chip, Peng Peng C1).

In March last year (2021), Xiaomi announced its own ISP chip, the Surge C1, which was first equipped by Xiaomi’s first folding screen phone, the MIX FOLD.

In addition, Yi Yan, Vice President of Xiaomi’s Mobile Phone Division and General Manager of the Camera Division, shared Xiaomi’s accumulation of imaging technology in five major application scenarios: mobile phones, robotics, XR, smart cars and smart manufacturing. He said that in the future, relying on the Centre as a platform, Xiaomi will continue to invest more resources and unite more upstream and downstream industry partners to do a good job of industrial synergy around the systemic needs of the imaging industry and improve the overall competitiveness of the industry.
