The official website of Xpeng Motors will soon have to make room for its newest model, the Xpeng G9 which launches in the third quarter of this year. In the last quarter of last year, the CEO of the company announced its plans to launch this flagship SUV model as its next in line EV model. The company’s website currently displays its three current models, namely the Xpeng P7, Xpeng P5, and Xpeng G3i.
Xpeng G9: Highlights
G9 would be Xpeng Motors’ first model to be designed keeping the international markets in mind right from the outset. The car would be based on the new medium and would include the company’s most up-to-date technology. This advanced technology comes from years spent developing in-house software and core hardware. G9’s performance would stand over and above that of popular SUV models in the same category of medium-to-large-sized smart electric SUVs.
Xpeng G9: Launch date and deliveries
While the G9 will launch in the third quarter of the year, large scale deliveries will commence in the final quarter. Slated for next year are two more models that would be based on the new medium, which will further widen the price range of its entire product line-up from 150,000 to 400,000 yuan. G9 will launch with a price that would be lower than Tesla’s Model Y and Nissan Ariya. In terms of price, it will compete with Ford’s Mustang Mach-E.
According to Xpeng’s recently announced 2022 Q1 financial report data, the company has attained a generous hike in its revenue. The company also proved to be the delivery champion of the new car-making force for many consecutive quarters.
