The launch ceremony of Xpeng Motors’ new model production line transformation was held at the Zhaoqing factory in Guangdong.
According to reports, the project plans to upgrade the existing vehicle production line at the Zhaoqing base through technological transformation of the production line to prepare for the production of new models. The planned total investment of this new model production line transformation project exceeds 100 million RMB. The transformation scope involves the production lines and logistics equipment and facilities of the four major workshops of stamping, welding, painting, and final assembly. The overall transformation of the project lasts about 20 days. At present, the project is progressing steadily as planned. It is planned to complete all transformation projects before February 9 and complete the commissioning of the entire production line by the end of February.
Lu Yuanmei, general manager of Xpeng Motors’ Zhaoqing base, said that through this new model production line renovation project, Xpeng Motors will complete the upgrade of the existing vehicle production line at the Zhaoqing base, increase the factory’s production capacity, make the base bigger and stronger, and welcome new growth in sales volume. stage. At the same time, Xpeng Motors will further play its role as a leading chain enterprise in Zhaoqing, work with the Zhaoqing Municipal Government to accelerate industrial agglomeration, and jointly promote the development of Zhaoqing’s new energy vehicles and auto parts industry.
Xpeng Motors’ Zhaoqing Intelligent Manufacturing Base was constructed at the end of 2017 and put into production in May 2020. The second phase of the project was officially signed and started in August 2021 in Zhaoqing High-tech Zone. By 2025, Xpeng Motors’ factories in Zhaoqing, Guangzhou and other planned factories in the future will gradually undergo technological transformation and upgrades.
According to the latest sales data released by Xpeng Motors, in 2023, Xpeng Motors delivered a total of 141,601 new cars, a year-on-year increase of 17%. As of December 31, 2023, Xpeng Motors’ cumulative historical deliveries reached 400,311 units.
