Xiaomi Mobile Software Co., Ltd. and Beijing Xiaomi Songo Electronics Co., Ltd. applied for the “earthquake information alert method, device, router, electronic device and storage media” patent announced.
The abstract shows that the router in the earthquake area in this application can send the broadcast signal carrying earthquake information and wake-up information to the electronic device in the shutdown state by means of the external broadcast so that the electronic device in the shutdown state can output the earthquake information driven by the wake-up information, and thus the electronic device in the shutdown state can also play the role of earthquake information alert.
Xiaomi Mobile has already launched the earthquake alert function, which supports most of the 25 provinces (including municipalities and autonomous regions) in China. Users with the earthquake warning feature turned on will receive a strong alert when an earthquake occurs and will actually be affected by it.
An earthquake alert is not an earthquake prediction, but an emergency alert issued after an earthquake has occurred and before the arrival of the destructive seismic waves. This alert will tell everyone how long before the earthquake arrives, and the possible effects of the earthquake, thereby allowing us to have valuable time to avoid danger.
In addition, Xiaomi cell phones also have an online earthquake monitoring function, using the phone’s built-in low-power sensors to sense seismic waves, after which the AI algorithm will measure the earthquake information and send the first warning to the people in the affected areas.
