Xiaomi held a global new product launch conference in Berlin, Germany today. In addition to launching the Xiaomi 13T series of mobile phones, it also launched the latest smartwatch Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro. It also announced that the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 will be launched Globally available.
Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro
The Xiaomi Mi Watch 2 Pro is a full-featured Google Wear OS smartwatch that can download a variety of third-party apps. The watch is available in Bluetooth and LTE versions, with the latter allowing users to make calls, send texts and stay connected without a paired smartphone.
Xiaomi Mi Watch 2 Pro features a 1.43-inch AMOLED circular display with a resolution of 466 x 466px and a peak brightness of 600 nits. The watch supports the always-on display function and comes with 20 pre-installed watch faces. The size is 46mm, with a Gorilla Glass cover + stainless steel body.
Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5 + Gen 1 wearable platform, supplemented by 2GB RAM and 32GB storage space, and supports dual-frequency GNSS positioning, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC connectivity. The Mi Watch 2 Pro is also 5ATM water-resistant and weighs 54.5 grams without the strap.
Mi Watch 2 Pro offers around-the-clock heart rate and blood oxygen monitoring, as well as sleep and stress monitoring. It also supports activity tracking for over 150 exercise modes and is equipped with a bioelectrical impedance sensor for estimating body composition metrics such as body fat percentage and muscle mass.
The watch has a built-in 495 mAh battery. The Bluetooth version has a battery life of up to 65 hours, and the LTE version has a battery life of up to 55 hours. It is charged with a dedicated magnetic charger.
The Bluetooth version of the Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro is priced at 270 euros (currently about RMB 2,093), and the LTE version is 330 euros (currently about RMB 2,558).
Mi Smart Band 8
Xiaomi Smart Band 8 is the Xiaomi Mi Band 8 that was first launched in China in April this year. It uses a 1.62-inch AMOLED oval screen with a resolution of 490 x 192 px. Supports constant display function with a peak brightness of 600 nits.
Mi Smart Band 8 supports the same health and fitness tracking features as Smart Band 7, with new interactive fitness classes that use accelerometers to track user movements in real-time.
Xiaomi Smart Band 8 also offers a variety of official watch straps, made of leather, nylon fabric and metal, with different styles. Xiaomi also offers a pendant accessory and a clip that can be attached to shoes for more advanced tracking and motion monitoring.
The Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 8 has a battery life of 16 days under normal use and 6 days in AOD mode. Using a dedicated charger, it can be fully charged within one hour.
Xiaomi Smart Band 8 is priced at 40 euros (currently about RMB 310).
