Today, Xiaomi announced its self-researched “Surge G1” battery management chip, which will be released together with Xiaomi 12S series on July 4. Xiaomi has previously developed its own “Surge P1” charging chip and “Surge C1” cell phone image chip, Xiaomi now wants to complete the last piece of the charging field puzzle, the launch of the “Surge G1 “chip, to achieve a breakthrough in battery management technology self-research of the whole chain.

From Xiaomi’s pre-launch poster can see the words “Xiaomi 12S Ultra”, it is expected that the chip will be carried by Xiaomi 12S Ultra first.
With the “Surge G1” power management chip, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra can achieve more intelligent discharge management, and rational use of cell phone power, to deliver more durable long-life performance.
Battery health refers to the fact that Surge G1 can monitor the slight changes in the internal material of the phone cell (ISP) caused by drops and impacts, and can also dynamically analyze the reasonable temperature range (SOA) of the battery undercharging and heavy load scenarios based on the temperature rise model, and provide battery maintenance functions to extend the battery life based on the health of the cell.
Accurate prediction is based on the user’s usage status and habits, “minute by minute” prediction of the available time, the accuracy is much higher than Android’s own prediction function.
In terms of battery life improvement, the Surge G1 can accurately adapt to the discharge curve characteristics of the silicon-oxygen negative electrode and dynamically adjust the discharge state (DTPT) to improve the overall battery life by 3-5%.
With the combined effect of silicon-oxygen negative battery, Surge P1 and Surge G1, “Xiaomi Surge Battery Management System” allows Xiaomi 12S Ultra to have fast wired Surge second charge and wireless second charge, and at the same time become the longest digital flagship phone ever by Xiaomi.
