On July 29th, according to the official @Xiaomi Brand Security news from Xiaomi Legal Department’s Brand Protection Group, a counterfeit Xiaomi Bluetooth headset den has been destroyed by the police. According to Xiaomi, a police station of a branch of the Guangzhou Public Security Bureau conducted a criminal crackdown on a target processing den and two supporting warehouses in Baiyun District, Guangzhou on the afternoon of July 13. During the crackdown, the police seized a large number of counterfeit Redmi trademarked Bluetooth headsets on site, totaling 2,032 units.
Currently, four suspects have been detained and the case is under further investigation. Xiaomi said that the sentencing standard for selling counterfeit and shoddy products is less than two years of fixed-term imprisonment or detention, or more than two years and less than seven years of fixed-term imprisonment. And Xiaomi reminded to not to try the law for small profits.
The headphones that were forged in the nest were RedmiBuds3Lite, and it’s worth noting that the product was not sold in China, and Xiaomi’s domestic counterpart should be RedmiBuds3 Youth. Therefore, the criminal gang may have been selling it by advertising it as an overseas version.
