Xiaomi’s brand Redmi, which last week launched the Redmi Pad in India at an introductory price of Rs 12,999, has now launched the Redmi Writing Pad in India, which is reportedly not an Android tablet, but a board for children and adults to use to take notes and doodle.
The Redmi Writing Pad comes with an 8.5-inch LCD display. Xiaomi says the screen is not light-emitting but mimics the effect of ink on paper, which prevents eye strain caused by prolonged use. The tablet is said to be made of ABS material and weighs 90 grams.
Also bundled with the Redmi Writing Pad is a pressure-sensitive stylus that allows users to switch between different stroke sizes and thus create different shades. The stylus weighs 5 grams and has a sliding and connecting mechanism for ease of use.
Once you have finished scribbling or taking notes you can clear the screen by tapping the orange button. There is also a lock on the side of the Writing Pad to prevent content from being deleted.
However, the Writing Pad does not seem to be allowed to sync with the user’s other Redmi devices.
The Redmi Writing Pad is said to be black and in India, consumers can now buy it for Rs 599 through Xiaomi’s official India.
