Xiaomi car patent announced: set parameters can drift

Xiaomi Auto Technology Co., Ltd. applied for the “vehicle drift control method, device, vehicle, storage media and chip” patent was recently published.

The abstract shows that the method includes: when the vehicle is in the drift mode open state, obtaining the slip rate level and steering information of the vehicle and the current vehicle speed of the vehicle, determining the target drift parameters, and the target drift parameters include the target yaw rate; according to the current vehicle speed The actual yaw rate and the target yaw rate determine the amount of steering compensation; according to the amount of steering compensation and steering information, determine the front axle torque, rear axle torque and rear wheel braking torque of the vehicle, so as to control the drifting of the vehicle. During the process, the steering compensation is performed by controlling the power steering motor according to the steering compensation amount and vehicle speed.

This disclosure reduces the dependence of vehicle drift on the driver, and determines different drift parameters according to different steering and vehicle speeds of the vehicle, so as to realize drift in different states.

Recently, near the Xiaomi Technology Park, some netizens took photos of a suspected Xiaomi car. The body is covered with camouflage paint, but it looks like a coupe from the model. It looks a bit like a Porsche Panamera and is equipped with lidar. According to previous media reports, the internal codename of Xiaomi’s first car is MS11, which may be equipped with 800V technology and a 260kW electric bridge. It is expected to be officially mass-produced in January 2024. It is reported that the first engineering vehicle has already rolled off the assembly line on September 28, 2022.

The Xiaomi car project has settled in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone. The Xiaomi car headquarters base, sales headquarters, and R&D headquarters will be built. A vehicle factory with an annual output of 300,000 vehicles will be built in two phases, of which the first and second phases will have a production capacity of 150,000 vehicles, It is expected that the first car will roll off the production line and achieve mass production in 2024.
