Xiaomi today announced a new image sensor brand “Light and Shadow Hunter”, which will be launched on the Xiaomi 14 series of phones.
According to reports, “Light and Shadow Hunter” is a professional high-dynamic image sensor customized for the mobile optics era. It is equipped with a 1/1.31-inch ultra-large bottom sensor size, with 1.2μm single pixels and 2.4μm fused large pixels. Officials claim that the sensor has an ultra-high dynamic range of 13.5EV, with more realistic colors and richer light and shadow details; it consumes 42% less power for the same size, has longer battery life, and has more creative freedom.
In the previous warm-up, Xiaomi Mi 14 phone was also officially announced to be equipped with Leica Optical Summilux lens, which the official said has “larger light input, faster shutter response, better blur capability, and purer night scene performance.” The poster shows that the lens has an ultra-large aperture of f/1.6, which greatly increases the amount of light entering; it uses a multi-layer nano-ALD ultra-low reflection coating with a reflectivity as low as 0.15%.
Xiaomi 14 series phones will be officially released on October 26, when ThePaper OS will also make its debut. It is expected that Xiaomi will announce a lot of information about the Mi 14 series and ThePaper OS in the next few days.
