Xiaomi 14 DXOMARK image, screen test results out, ranked 28th and 53rd respectively

DXOMARK recently announced the image and screen test scores of Xiaomi Mi 14. After testing, Xiaomi Mi 14 ranked 28th in the DXOMARK image rankings with a total score of 138 points; and ranked 53rd in the DXOMARK screen rankings with a total score of 133 points.

In terms of imaging, DXOMARK believes:

The image quality of the Mi 14 is significantly improved compared to its predecessor, the Mi 13. Images were detailed and low-noise in most test conditions; the neutral white balance makes the device ideal for landscape photos. The Xiaomi Mi 14’s zoom performance stands out among its peers, delivering detailed images in telephoto mode. In addition, the video experience of Xiaomi Mi 14 has also been greatly improved. Whether indoors or outdoors, the target exposure is accurate, the dynamic range of the video is wide, and the detail and texture processing are also good.

However, when taking portrait photos outdoors, facial contrast is low under strong light and backlight conditions, and sometimes overexposure occurs; when shooting sports scenes, some artifacts may appear, resulting in unnatural photo effects. In terms of video: although autofocus has made some progress compared with the previous generation, it is still unstable in panning scenes; in low-light environments, the video imaging noise is more obvious than similar products, and the rendering of human skin color is not accurate enough.

In terms of screen, DXOMARK evaluates:

The screen of Xiaomi Mi 14 can provide users with an excellent user experience in all usage situations and has stable readability; the screen is very smooth when browsing web pages or playing games; in low-light environments, the screen brightness can be adjusted well, and indoors The color performance in the environment is also excellent.

Although Xiaomi 14 has improved artifact management compared to Xiaomi 13, the screen still flickers to a high degree in default mode (however, the device has an anti-flicker function to limit this phenomenon); although the device released by Xiaomi The peak brightness can reach 3000 nits, but our engineers found in testing that the device’s maximum brightness can only reach 2740 nits when watching HDR video content, which will result in insufficient brightness and loss of details in dark parts when watching HDR10 videos.
