Xiaomi Community MIUI Bulletin Jun released its 596th weekly release announcement and changelog today, which shows that Xiaomi 13 Ultra is expected to be released as a development version on May 19, 2023.
In addition, starting today, 21 April 2023, the following models will be discontinued from development:
"Redmi K40 Pro, Redmi K40 Pro+, Redmi K40, Xiaomi 10S, Xiaomi 11 Youth Edition, Redmi K40 Gaming Plus, and Redmi Note 10 Pro."
Xiaomi says that the version switch will only be successful when the development version of the security patch, is not higher than the official version of the security patch. Users who have lost the switch option or failed to switch should back up their data to their computers and then wire-brush it by referring to the brushing tutorial.
According to the plan, the development version will continue to be released on 28 April, suspended on 5 May and resumed on 12 May.
The models in question, the Xiaomi 10S released in March 2021 with a Snapdragon 870 chip, the Redmi K40 phones released in February 2021 with a Snapdragon 870 chip, and the Redmi K40 Pro with a Snapdragon 888 chip.
Previously, Xiaomi announced that starting with the Android 13-based MIUI, MIUI will focus on two versions: “Development” and “Official”. Permissions will be gradually withdrawn from products released for more than one year, and the corresponding models will be recruited and adjusted according to the demand for MIUI Development Edition. For some models that do not have MIUI Development Edition, the official version will be available for internal testing.
According to Xiaomi, the MIUI system development version is a test version provided to a small number of rice fans with a senior geek spirit for problem feedback and testing, with unpredictable stability, thanks to these brave adventurers to try the development version. According to the actual situation of the project, there is a possibility of temporary suspension of the version that week, so we recommend enthusiast fans try it and give rational feedback if they encounter problems, and pay attention to the subsequent version upgrade.
