Breaking news sources OnLeaks and CompareDial have collaborated to reveal renders and details of the upcoming Xiaomi 13 Standard Edition phone.
The Xiaomi 13 will have a design similar to the iPhone 14, eliminating the curved display found on the Xiaomi 12 and replacing it with a completely flat 6.2-inch display with centered punchouts and a built-in selfie camera.
In addition, the aluminum sides are similar to the iPhone 14, right down to the subtle horizontal lines of the antenna band. Xiaomi first hinted at this new design direction in the Xiaomi 12 Lite, which was announced in early July.
At the back, the camera bump is in the same design language as the Xiaomi 12, albeit more nearly square than rectangular. The back will feature a triple-camera system. Unlike the sharp bezels on the front, the Xiaomi 13 will have smooth curved edges on the back.
The Xiaomi 13 body measures 152.8 x 71.5 x 8.3mm (10.3mm thick when including the rear camera bump).
According to the leak, Xiaomi 13 will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, the same as Xiaomi 13 Pro, which is expected to be unveiled at the launch event in November.
The new Xiaomi 13 rear camera will be a Sony IMX8 sensor with OIS optical stabilization, instead of the Xiaomi 12S IMX707, whose overall performance is between the Sony IMX707 and Sony IMX766, and the sensor size is expected to be around 1/1.5 inches. In addition, the camera will be complemented by a 50-megapixel ultra wide-angle lens and a 50-megapixel portrait lens.
