The Chinese smartphone industry introduces the new Xiaomi 13 Pro, which uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. This is the second device to launch with this new processor, and it brings certain improvements to the Xiaomi flagship line-up. With this device, smartphone maker Xiaomi focuses on camera abilities as it introduces the 1-inch lens to the new 13 series.
As we already know, Xiaomi works in collaboration with Leica to help advance its camera technology by adding various features and filters. This makes the Xiaomi 13 Pro a very impressive photography smartphone, a possible competitor to the DXOMark camera champion, the Huawei Mate 50 Pro. So far, the best feature of this smartphone is its processor, camera ability, and design.

For its processor, the new Xiaomi 13 Pro uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and up to 12GB worth of LPDDR5X RAM. The maximum storage capacity on this flagship device is 512GB of high-speed UFS 4.0 ROM. On its rear sits a triple camera setup housing a 1-inch 50MP main camera lens while the selfie camera is a 32MP lens.
With this device, Xiaomi adopts a new design with a new camera cutout and a curved screen for only the 13 series Pro model. The screen size on this device is 6.73-inch, and it uses a 2K OLED panel which supports up to 120Hz of refresh rate. Adding more value to the device’s design are various colour options which include Tao Black, Ceramic White, Wilderness Green, and Far Mountain Blue. All the colour options available on this device come with a ceramic back finish, but, there are a few exclusive leather options.
The Xiaomi 13 Pro runs on Android 13 with some customizations from the company’s in-house MIUI 14 software. Its battery capacity is, 4820mAh, and it supports a 120W wired fast charging capability as well as a 50W wireless fast charging capability. This device is currently available for purchase and is still making its way to other regions outside China and will retail at a starting price of $716.
