Xiaomi has a slew of new flagship phones waiting in the pipeline to be official. The company is expected to launch the Xiaomi 12 Ultra, Xiaomi 12S, Xiaomi 12S Pro, 12S Pro Dimensity Edition, and Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 in the coming months. Last year, Xiaomi announced the Xiaomi 12 series in December. Hence, it is likely that the Xiaomi 13 series will debut around the same time. Reliable tipster Digital Chat Station has shared a few details about what appears to be the Xiaomi 13 handset.

It can be said based on a tipster’s recent Weibo post that the Xiaomi 13 will be a compact flagship phone featuring Qualcomm’s upcoming mobile chipset that has an SM8550 part number. This SoC is expected to debut as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.

The tipster added that it will have a larger version that will carry support for 2K resolution. This device could be the Xiaomi 13 Pro. He added through another Weibo post that it will be equipped with a centrally aligned punch-hole, curved edges, and narrow bezels.

There will be a triple camera unit at the upper-left corner of the Xiaomi 13 Pro’s back. The engineering prototype of the device is being tested with two rear cover options, such as ceramic and AG glass. The Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro are expected to arrive with identical screen designs and rear camera arrangements. Both devices are expected to feature Leica-engineered cameras.

Xiaomiui recently revealed that the Xiaomi 13 has a Nuwa codename, whereas the Xiaomi 13 Pro has a Fuxi codename. The Xiaomi 13 has a 2211133C / 2211133G model number. On the other hand, the Xiaomi 13 Pro has a 2210132C / 2210132G model number. The letters ‘C’ and ‘G’ stand for China and Global editions, respectively. The company is reportedly testing the Xiaomi 13 series with Android 13.
