Microsoft Xbox issued a notice announcing that it will abandon the Xbox console helper app on Windows on August 28, moving to the Xbox app.
The Xbox app for Windows is the location where games can be played and computer game content managed on Windows devices. Users can play games in the app whether they are an Xbox Game Pass or PC Game Pass member, or have purchased games from the Microsoft Store.
- Manage your Xbox profile: change player pictures, online status, privacy settings and more.
- Xbox Game Pass: Access more than 100 high-quality games, including iconic Bethesda games, new games released the same day, and EA Play.
- Official Microsoft Store: Games purchased from the Microsoft Store are ready to install from the Xbox app.
- Xbox Social: Connect and chat with friends, link social media accounts, start or join groups, and see what’s happening in the community based on the games you play.
- Xbox Cloud Gaming: Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can instantly start playing Xbox console games in the cloud with no installation required.
- Remote Play: Play games from your Xbox console directly on your Windows device.
