Corel recently released WinZip version 28, which mainly brought two changes. One is a redesigned home screen, and the other is support for scanning compressed files for malware.

WinZip version 28 further enhances existing tools such as WinZip Courier and WinZip SafeShare, with an optimized overall layout on the new home screen for easy access to help and support. WinZip 28 also adds optional in-app ratings and surveys to encourage users to submit feedback.

WinZip version 28 also introduces a new option that allows users to scan Zip format compressed files before decompressing them to confirm whether the files carry malware and prevent ransomware and other malware from entering the user’s computer.
It is learned from the report that the new version also enhanced the WinZip Secure Backup tool, but it is limited to the professional and enterprise versions. Users only need to right-click the folder to back up.
