Ever since the Windows 11 launch, Microsoft has had its eyes on making the software more user-friendly. To achieve this aim, some Android applications became available to laptops running the latest Windows operating system. Now, Microsoft is working hard to bring a few features from Android 13 over to the applications it offers on its subsystem.
The Windows subsystem for Android enables Microsoft software to run Android applications via the Amazon App Store. At this point, Microsoft brags that there are over 50,000 applications on its subsystem, and they are accessible by users across the world. By introducing Android 13 goodness to Windows 11 Microsoft plans to bring some features such as better file transfers, new shortcut features, local network access by default, and picture-in-picture support to its ecosystem.

This will help make using Android applications on a Windows laptop more user-friendly and similar to the experience on an Android device. A roadmap on GitHub shows what features are currently available, unavailable, and coming to the subsystem. Developers can now make use of these features while publishing their Android application to the Amazon App Store for usage on a device running Windows 11.
Unavailable features not yet on the roadmap such as Android Widgets, Direct Bluetooth access, Quick tiles, etc will also make their way to the Windows subsystem for Android. With the introduction of more features to the Windows 11 Android subsystem, applications will be able to work as they would on an Android device. Once available, developers will get access to the features on the roadmap for usage on their various apps to be published on the Amazon App Store for Windows.
