The Windows 10 Version 22H2 feature update has been unofficially confirmed. Such a name change has been implemented in the latest optional update KB5015684, and the Windows 10 22H2 feature update will be released to users in the coming months.
As reported earlier this year, while Microsoft’s focus has shifted to Windows 11, the company has not completely abandoned Windows 10, which will still be supported and will be updated with new features this fall.
Windows 10 has been updated from 21H2 to 22H2 after the installation of the optional update KB5015684. As the image below shows, Windows 10 Build 19045 is now shown as 22H2 on the About page of the Settings app.
Although the name has changed, there is no significant change between Windows 10 21H2 and Windows 10 22H2. So this feature update is not a big upgrade and will probably be deployed through the Enabledment Package, which may not be too obvious to consumers.
Microsoft’s official statement has previously stated that the Enabledment Package will only provide a “scoped feature set” and that such updates are somewhat similar to monthly cumulative updates, meaning that Windows 10 22H2 will complete the switch later this year.
