Last month, Microsoft officially kicked off the rollout of the Windows 11 22H2 feature update and brought a number of security features with it. At the same time, Microsoft updated the block list of “vulnerable drivers” and its functionality, which can now be enabled by default in certain situations. The latest news is that with the launch of Windows 11 22H2, the software giant is turning its attention to the parallel development of the Windows 10 22H2 branch.
Earlier, a link to an ISO image of Windows 10 22H2 was revealed, which means that Microsoft will soon start pushing the new version.
This is after Microsoft had hinted at a set of “in-scope” features, and it seems that the Defender security app will see a big change.
On Friday, Microsoft revealed more details in its “Driver Vulnerability Blocking Rules” document, which was updated on the same day.
This blocking list will be updated with each major release of Windows.
We plan to update the existing block list for non-Windows 11 customers in an upcoming service release.
And on occasion, we will release subsequent updates through regular Windows maintenance.
This means that the upcoming Windows 10 22H2 feature update will hopefully also receive the same treatment as Windows 11 22H2.
Also with Patch Tuesday less than a week away this month, it cannot be ruled out that the Windows 10 driver block list will be updated before the release of Windows 10 22H2.
