Meta announced a redesign of WhatsApp for MacOS users, in addition to sending messages, the new version of WhatsApp also allows users to make group calls. Each video call can support up to 8 people, audio calls can support up to 32 people.
Users can also join a group call once it has started, view call history, and choose to be notified of incoming calls even when the app is closed.

Mac users can also share files by dragging and dropping them into the chat window, and see more of their chat history. Like the mobile app, WhatsApp for MacOS offers end-to-end encryption for messages and calls across devices.
The new WhatsApp app for Mac is now available for download from the official website and will soon be available on the Mac App Store, and requires macOS 11 or later to run.
