Weilai Li Bin: July less production of a few thousand cars, please ask suppliers to resist

On July 31, at the 2022 Azera Partner Day event, Azera Chairman Li Bin said that more than 4,000 units of the Azera ET7 were delivered in June, and the original plan was to build on this and increase deliveries by a step in July, but because of a lack of supply of die castings, several thousand units were underproduced. For this reason, Li Bin shouted at the event, “Please suppliers hold up!”

Currently, it takes as long as 7 months to pick up a car after ordering ET7, and this has become the industry norm, with many car companies’ delivery cycles significantly lengthening.

With the significant growth of store traffic and orders, the factories of car companies have been producing at full capacity, but even so, it is difficult to keep up with the delivery rhythm.

Right now, most new energy car companies have a delivery cycle of 1-4 months, with BYD’s delivery cycle for some models exceeding six months.

According to the plan, Azera will deliver the Azera Smart Electric mid-size SUV ES7 on August 28 and the Azera Smart Electric Coupe ET5 at the end of September, while Azera’s planned production capacity target during the 14th Five-Year Plan is up to 1 million units.
