Volkswagen ID.4 all-electric flagship is already being assembled in the US

Production of the Volkswagen ID.4 all-electric vehicle in the US is already in motion and the company plans to increase US production.

The Volkswagen ID.4 all-electric vehicle has begun production in Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA. This is in line with the company’s plan to upscale the production of this EV. Volkswagen aims to roll out a total of 7,000 vehicles every month before the end of this year.

The company has about two months for production before these vehicles will begin to ship to their new homes. So, an estimate of over 14,000 vehicles will be ready to ship by October. Materials for the production of this vehicle come from states around the country. Staffs working in this factory are as well from around the country.

Volkswagen plans full expansion into the American region and has the facility necessary to aid this expansion. According to the company, asides from the Volkswagen ID.4 which became official last year, this factory will also roll out more electric vehicles. The company has a long list of EVs it plans will be manufactured in this factory for the American market. 

Among the list of vehicles the company plans to release are an ID.4 in 2022, a fastback saloon, and the ID Buzz electric microbus which will launch in 2024. Plans are that by 2030 the supply of Volkswagen electric vehicles in the US will make up 55% of the company’s sales.
