Volkswagen Group announced on Friday that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Ellia Group to explore V2G technology and how it could help stabilize the energy grid while rewarding drivers of electric vehicles. Elia is the Belgian high-voltage transmission operator responsible for maintaining electricity supply and demand. The company believes electric vehicles can be a key asset in balancing the grid, calling them “batteries on wheels.”
