Valve Society today released an announcement to celebrate the first anniversary of the Steam Deck handheld launch. At the same time, the Steam Deck brings a customization feature for the boot animation.
Valve said players have long figured out how to customize the Steam Deck boot animation, and now it’s a built-in feature of Steam Deck. Valve has created 20 different boot animations for you to pick from.
You can find these animations in the Steam point store and set their own boot animations in Settings > Customize, or if they have been customized previously (under steamui / overrides / movies/), the animations will be retained in the new UI.
In addition, for hard-to-select users, Valve Social has added a random play option that allows you to select a random animation at boot time. These boot animations can also be played at startup in large screen mode in desktop mode.
