Unisco Platform Completes Android 14 Synchronization Upgrade

UV Spreadtrum today announced that Spreadtrum 5G mobile platforms T820, T770, T760, T750, and 4G platforms T619, T616, T612, T606, and SC9863A have completed the synchronous upgrade of Android 14.

Officially, Unisco has simplified the steps for OEMs and ODMs to upgrade to the latest version of the Android operating system, significantly reducing overall engineering costs and resource investment and making system upgrades more efficient and faster. The Android upgrade support framework of the Unisco chip platform is jointly maintained and upgraded by Unisco and Google. Based on the code update package provided by Unisco, OEMs and ODMs can complete the upgrade of the latest version of the Android OS system by only modifying the upper-layer framework, shortening the upgrade cycle by at least one month compared to that in the past. As part of the cooperation with Google, starting from Android 13, all mobile platforms of Unisco can support four Android OS versions and provide four-year security upgrades.

Google announced the official launch of Android 14 for Pixel devices, which has now been pushed to Google Pixel 4a (5G) and newer models. Android 14 brings better privacy protection, smarter notification management, and more theme options.

According to Ziguang Spreadtrum, based on Android 14 new features such as efficient performance framework, convergence of intelligent task management, network VIP mode and other features, as well as innovations and optimizations of the underlying technologies such as CPU, storage and interfaces, the performance of some user scenarios has been improved by more than 20% compared to the previous generation version. Android 14 (Go edition) has simplified some of the features to make Android 14 (Go edition) simplifies some features to make the phone more secure, stable and smooth after the upgrade.
