Regarding the shipment performance in the third quarter of 2023, research analyst Matthew Orf said: “As consumer demand remains sluggish, phone brand manufacturers are cautious about increasing shipments in the quarter. Although compared with the previous quarter, operators’ users The device upgrade rate has increased slightly, but is still well below normal levels as consumers choose to extend their replacement cycles rather than upgrade to new models. Smartphones now have greater durability and higher build quality, but releases New models often fall short of expectations in terms of technology upgrades, coupled with the uncertainty of the macroeconomic environment, which has led to a sluggish U.S. smartphone market.”

With its new product portfolio and increased presence in the prepaid market and national retail channels, Motorola HMD and Nokia have gone against the trend and achieved growth. However, Samsung and TCL have encountered challenges in the low-end market, and their related models are gradually withdrawing from the market.”
