According to a new report released by market research firm J.D. Power, U.S. electric car owners will have a 20% charge failure rate in 2022, up from 15% in 2021.
The main causes of charging failure are damaged chargers (nearly three-quarters of the time), vandalized charging posts, software and hardware failures, payment processing and more.
Tesla’s Supercharger network in the U.S. was vandalized in 2022, with attackers not only isolating charging cables but also extracting the copper wires inside to sell for money.
For those of you who drive electric cars, have you ever experienced charging failures in your daily use? What is the main reason? Welcome to leave a message in the comments section.
