Twitter managers spit on laid-off and returning employees: weak, lazy, lack motivation

Social media Twitter last week to let some of the fired engineers back to work initiative. But a Twitter executive tweeted that the returning employees were “weak, lazy and unmotivated.

The senior Twitter engineering director commented, “It’s going to be a challenge. The engineers I’ve brought back are generally weak, lazy, and unmotivated to work, and they may even oppose Elon Musk-led Twitter.”

The executive added, “They were let go for a reason, so I think these people just need to stay with the company until the skills handover is complete.”

The executive had been working at Twitter since 2013, according to a profile on the job site LinkedIn. The executive’s comments sparked a heated debate on Twitter’s internal Slack channel, according to people familiar with the situation.

There were also posts asking users how Elon Musk would react to the executive’s claims.

Of the 157 respondents, 60 thought Elon Musk would promote the executive, 56 thought Elon Musk would take no action, and 41 thought the executive would be fired.

Elon Musk fired about half of his staff after taking over Twitter, but asked some of them to return to work a few days later.
