According to an April 4 court filing disclosed by foreign tech media outlet Slate, Twitter Inc. has now merged into an entity called X Corp.
The court filing relates to a lawsuit between Twitter and Laura Loomer, who accused Twitter Inc. of violating federal racketeering laws by banning her account in 2019.
Loomer’s current defendant has been reassigned from Twitter Inc. to X Corp. and is a “successor in interest” to Twitter Inc. Its parent company has been identified as X Holdings Corp.
The merger, which Elon Musk did not announce, theoretically will not have a direct impact on Twitter’s existing apps or services.
