NASA announced today that, based on monitoring of Tropical Storm Nicole, it has decided to postpone the launch of the Artemis I moon landing mission to Wednesday, November 16, waiting to meet staff Safe conditions for returning to work.
NASA’s Artemis 1 lunar mission has been delayed several times, and the latest is scheduled to launch next Monday (November 14) from the Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. But Tropical Storm Nicole was making landfall from Florida’s Atlantic coast, so NASA announced a two-day delay.
NASA said in an emailed statement on Nov. 8: “Adjusting the target launch date will allow engineers to meet the needs of caring for their families and families, and provide sufficient logistical time to be able to respond during tropical storms. Then resume the launch state.”
Artemis 1 marks the first launch of NASA’s giant launch vehicle SLS, which will launch a spacecraft called Orion into orbit far from the moon. There were no astronauts on the mission, but it was just a test for a follow-up mission.
After experiencing many fuel leakage problems before, NASA finally successfully completed the fuel test of SLS. As a result, it encountered hurricanes and tropical storms. It seems to be ill-fated, comparable to the previous James Webb telescope.
