Transcend Launches 112-Layer 3D NAND Embedded Wide Temperature Solid State Drive

Transcend recently launched a full range of 112-layer 3D NAND SSDs with wide temperature tolerance for stable operation between -40°C and 85°C. The SSDs are available in 2.5-inch, M.2 and mSATA types. Their specifications include 2.5-inch, M.2 and mSATA types, and are comprehensively suitable for embedded devices, in-vehicle systems and ultra-thin servers.

Offering up to 4TB of capacity on a single chip, this highly reliable solution can overcome the challenges of extreme industrial environments and support applications such as smart factories, modern infrastructure and surveillance in the Internet of Things era.

Transcend uses 112 layers of 3D NAND flash memory to build a wide temperature SSD that supports mainstream SATA III interfaces and high-speed PCIe interfaces. Thanks to an internal sorting process and rigorous temperature testing, the SSD ensures that it can adapt to rapid temperature changes and thermal shock with capacities up to 4TB and proven performance between -40°C and 85°C. Meanwhile, the inclusion of Sulfur Resistant Technology, Corner Bond and 30µ” Gold Finger enhances the protection of critical components and effectively extends the life of the SSD.

All of these features create higher reliability for demanding applications, such as roadside surveillance systems that are exposed to high temperatures for extended periods of time, or industrial computers that must ensure uninterrupted high-speed operation.

To enhance data storage quality, Transcend utilizes advanced technologies to optimize SSD firmware. These technologies include automatic ECC (Error Correction Code) mechanisms, dynamic thermal throttling and Power Shield, enhancing SSD stability and data integrity. In response to the growing need for remote control brought on by the pandemic, Transcend has made good use of both hardware and software by developing exclusive control center management software. The software tool assists companies in remotely monitoring SSD status, maintaining firmware in real-time, reducing maintenance costs and accomplishing efficient management, bringing technological advances to storage in automated manufacturing, modern transportation, smart retail, smart healthcare and more.
