Innova Hycross Flex-fuel can be free to use ethanol or electricity as its power source, in the ethanol power, due to the high cost of obtaining 100% ethanol, so The current ethanol-powered prototypes are usually used by the gasoline, ethanol made of mixed fuel. “The Innova Hycross Flex-fuel uses 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline as the fuel for its “ethanol-driven” portion.
Toyota officials said the prototype is designed to meet India’s previously established high-level emission standards, so the model is also the world’s first BS 6 (Phase II) electric “flex-fuel” car (“Flex-fuel” means that the model can run on both pure ethanol and gasoline). (Flexible Fuel means that the model can be driven by pure ethanol or electric power).
However, Toyota has not announced the official mass production time of this model, which may take several months or even years before it can be put into mass production.
