Toyota Mirai hydrogen fuel cell car released with upgraded driver assistance features

Toyota today released its new Mirai hydrogen fuel cell vehicle. As an annual minor facelift, the new car mainly optimizes its configuration. The new car will be launched in Japan on December 18 and will only be available to government and fleet buyers. The price range is 72.61 million to 86.1 million yen, which is equivalent to approximately RMB 354,000 to 420,000 RMB. Currently, the official guide price of the Toyota Mirai in the domestic market as an imported car is 748,000 RMB.

Mirai is the first mass-produced hydrogen fuel cell vehicle launched by Toyota. It was unveiled in 2014. The second-generation product will be launched globally at the end of 2020. It is built on the same platform as the Lexus LS. The new car released this time is the second-generation model. annual facelift model.

It is noticed that the new Mirai has not changed much in appearance. The trapezoidal grille on the front face is very similar to the spindle grille of Lexus LS. The body dimensions of the new Mirai are the same as the current model, measuring 4973 mm long, 1885 mm wide, 1471 mm high and with a wheelbase of 2918 mm. Rear design features include through-type taillights and a ducktail spoiler, which enhance the vehicle’s sporty look.

In terms of configuration, the new Mirai adds more driving assistance functions and is equipped with the latest Toyota Safety Sense system, which has active driving assistance functions that can detect objects on the road and provide “mild” braking and steering support, and also provides traffic control Traffic jam assist and remote parking functions. In addition, the new car also improves the display effect of the 12.3-inch LCD instrument in strong light environments and is equipped with 64-color ambient lighting. The vehicle also provides an original driving recorder, digital key (optional) and remote start.

In terms of power, the new Mirai is based on current overseas models and is equipped with an electric motor with a maximum power of 134 kW, a peak torque of 300 Nm, and an acceleration time of 0 to 100 km/h in 9.2 seconds. The hydrogen tanks are arranged in a T-shape on the bottom of the vehicle, including one longitudinal hydrogen tank and two horizontal hydrogen tanks. A total of 5.6 kilograms of hydrogen can be stored, and the cruising range can reach 850 kilometers under WTLC conditions.
