TiVo and European OEM Vestel to Launch One Million TiVo OS Smart TVs

TiVo, the operating system brand of Xperi, has signed a “multi-year, multi-country, multi-million unit” agreement with Vestel, Europe’s leading TV OEM, to launch the first TiVo OS smart TVs in Europe in 2023.

Xperi says TiVo OS is a neutral platform that provides a “hassle-free” environment for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Xperi is an important part of the TiVo OS rollout on other platforms, and the Powered by TiVo model allows TV OEMs to get more information on the platform.

Powered by TiVo TV will offer more services, enabling users to enjoy more TV shows and services. TV signals to all of their apps in an intuitive way and applies those apps elsewhere. In that process, TiVo Smart TV will provide innovative solutions that bring good navigation and more opportunities to the TV.

Vestel is one of Europe’s leading TV manufacturers, with foundry customers including brands such as Electra, Finlux, Grundig, Hitachi, JVC, Medion, Panasonic, Polaroid, Strong, Toshiba and Thomson, according to Runto Loto Technology View Research.

Through its partnership with Vestel, TiVo expects to sell millions of smart TVs with TiVo OS in Europe over the next few years. tiVo will offer apps such as Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Paramount + and Pluto TV, as well as voice assistants, universal search and custom recommendations. Benchmark for the product includes Android TV, Fire TV, LG Web OS, Samsung Tizen and Roku TV. after the European market, Tivo’s direction will be in the U.S.
