At the Supplier Tech Day event held by SAIC Volkswagen’s Intelligent Connected R&D Department on July 20-21, Tianma Microelectronics showcased a variety of new car display products, which are summarized below.
The integrated DMS under-screen camera display technology demonstrated this time can hide the camera at any position under the display screen, which can effectively avoid the increase in the complexity of the electronic system architecture in the cockpit caused by installing the camera separately on the center console or in front of the dashboard, or the increase in model modification costs caused by integrating the camera on the steering wheel.

Tianma Microelectronics said that the screen is equipped with Tianma’s original algorithm SOC built-in chip, which can not only recognize the driver’s face and track eye movement trajectory, but also recognize the driver’s behavior through deep learning, such as “closed eyes”, “yawn”, “abnormal head position”, “calling”, “smoking”, “not in the monitoring area” and other six behaviors that affect driving safety, and display corresponding warning messages on the screen to ensure driving safety.
In addition, Tianma demonstrated the industry’s first ultra-low reflective transparent Micro-LED display with a reflectivity as low as 4%. It claims a transmittance of over 65% and a PPI of 114.

According to Tianma Microelectronics, Micro-LED, as a next-generation display technology, has many advantages such as high resolution, low response time, high integration, and high reliability, and can turn the front windshield of future cars into a more powerful human-machine interface. Through the special optical design, Tianma can effectively reduce the interference of ambient light, improve the clarity of the picture, reduce the reflection of the screen, make the image clearer and more realistic, and allow the driver to enjoy better visual effects.
