According to the latest data released by Data.ai and IDC, it is estimated that player spending in 2023 will be 191 billion U.S. dollars, of which mobile game spending is 108 billion US dollars, accounting for 55%.
According to the report, game console players are estimated to spend US$43 billion this year; PC players are estimated to spend US$40 billion; and Nintendo Switch Lite and Valve’s Steam Players are expected to spend around $3 billion on portable game consoles represented by Deck.
The report said the fastest-growing industry is the cloud gaming industry. IDC estimates that player spending will be US$3.8 billion in 2023, a year-on-year increase of 50%, and the number of monthly active users worldwide will exceed 60 million.
The report states that the Nintendo Switch Lite gaming console sold more than 21 million units in the first quarter of 2023; Valve’s Steam Deck gaming console is approaching 2 million units.
