Microsoft’s Insider builds for Windows can often reveal interesting upcoming features. The latest Windows 11 development channel, Build 25197, has received some new features such as a tablet-optimized taskbar, although the company has admitted it’s currently a bit buggy.
In addition, there are some unannounced features in the new version, such as real-time kernel dumps, and hidden features such as the new Spotlight user interface have been discovered.
Similarly, in the previous version 25193, the company brought back the tablet mode user interface, which was later officially released in 25197.
Today, Twitter user PhantomOcean3 spotted another new feature in an early Build 25193, according to which it looks like Microsoft will soon include Windows 10-style search directly in the taskbar in Windows 11.
Back in the development channel Build 25158, Microsoft added things like a new taskbar search style, there were five variants back then and this new one that has appeared will be the sixth variant and work in a similar way.
As you can see in the image above, it will show the highlighted content of the day, but you can turn it off by disabling the search highlight feature.
