Tesla held a Cybertruck delivery event at 4 a.m. today and revealed relevant information about this pure electric pickup truck.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk unveiled the pickup truck in November 2019 with a jarring polygonal design.
During a 2019 demonstration event, company designer Franz von Holzhausen threw a metal ball at the window, causing it to crack.
On this delivery, Holzhausen threw a baseball, naturally causing no damage.
In a video shown later, Tesla compared its Cybertruck to the Ford F-150 Lightning and Rivian R1T diesel trucks.
Elon Musk said that this pure electric pickup truck can tow more than 11,000 pounds (Note: about 4994 kilograms) and has a payload capacity of 2,500 pounds (about 1,135 kilograms). The Cybertruck cargo box is 6 feet (about 1.83 meters) long. ), 4 feet (about 1.22 meters) wide, with a ground clearance of 17 inches (about 431.8 mm).
For comparison, Ford’s F-150 Lightning is rated to tow 10,000 pounds with the extended battery.
Elon Musk also said the Cybertruck can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.6 seconds and can complete the quarter mile in 11 seconds.
Elon Musk showed a video in which the Cybertruck appeared to be faster than the 2023 Porsche 911. Elon Musk said: “In the case of towing a 911, the acceleration is faster than the 911.”
Note: The entire delivery event lasted approximately 25 minutes, making it one of the shortest events in Tesla’s history.
