Tesla’s Berlin Gigafactory reached milestone of weekly production of 5,000 vehicles

Tesla’s Berlin Gigafactory, which was confirmed to be built in 2019, held a grand opening ceremony on March 22 last year after a long environmental approval process, and the production of Model Y also officially started. delivered to the user.

One year after delivering the first car to customers, Tesla’s Berlin Gigafactory has now announced that it has reached its historic goal of producing 5,000 cars per week, successfully surpassing the Texas Gigafactory. If this production rate can be maintained, the Berlin Gigafactory will be able to produce more than 250,000 vehicles per year.

Although it has been a year since Gigafactory Berlin started delivery, it is still just the beginning for the car factory, and it will continue to operate for a long time.

Since the start of delivery, the production capacity of the Model Y at the Berlin Gigafactory has been steadily increasing. The weekly production has just reached 4,000 at the end of last month, and has now exceeded 5,000. With the increase in production, it is believed that its new car deliveries will also increase steadily.

As Tesla’s newly launched vehicle factories, the increase in the production of the Berlin Gigafactory and the Texas Gigafactory Model Y will also enhance their ability to meet the needs of consumers in the European and North American markets and increase overall production.

Tesla currently has 4 passenger car factories. The production capacity of the Fremont plant in California and the Gigafactory in Shanghai is still increasing. Coupled with the continuous increase in the output of the Gigafactory in Berlin and the Gigafactory in Texas, their output and delivery this year volume will continue to increase.

According to Tesla data, in the fourth quarter of 2022, Tesla produced more than 439,000 vehicles worldwide and delivered more than 405,000 vehicles. For the full year of 2022, Tesla will deliver a total of 1.31 million vehicles worldwide, a year-on-year increase of 40%; a total of 1.37 million vehicles will be produced, a year-on-year increase of 47%.

Specifically, Tesla will deliver 388,131 Model 3 and Model Y vehicles in the fourth quarter of 2022, and 17,147 Model S and Model X deliveries.

Tesla said it continued to transition to “more balanced volume production for different regional markets,” which led to a further increase in vehicles in transit at the end of the quarter.

what stage is the current production capacity of the Shanghai Gigafactory?

According to the data released by Tesla China in the second quarter financial report of last year, the Shanghai factory upgraded its production capacity in early July, with an annual production capacity of more than 750,000 vehicles, making it Tesla’s current super factory with the highest production capacity. Referring to the data from the Passenger Federation, Tesla’s domestic Model Y 2022 has a cumulative annual delivery of more than 450,000 vehicles, and Model 3 has more than 250,000 vehicles.
