According to Bloomberg, sources said Tesla is preparing to launch an improved version of its best-selling Model Y at the Shanghai factory, and mass production may begin as early as mid-2024.

It is noticed that Tesla launched a facelift of the Model Y in October this year, adding multi-color ambient lights, a new dashboard trim using technical textile materials, and 19-inch Gemini wheels. In addition, the rear-wheel drive version of the new Model Y accelerates from 100 kilometers to 100 kilometers in 5.9 seconds, which is 1 second shorter than the old model.
Model Y is Tesla’s best-selling model in China. Data from the Passenger Car Association shows that in the first 11 months of this year, Tesla’s Shanghai factory has delivered approximately 854,000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of more than 30%. Currently, Model Y has three configurations, namely the rear-wheel drive version, the long-range version and the high-performance version, with prices starting at 266,400 RMB, 306,400 RMB and 363,900 RMB respectively.
