Tesla has recently displayed a model of its first humanoid robot Optimus in some stores in North America. The Tesla store in New York City has received a display unit of Optimus. Citizens can go to watch.
Optimus is an intelligent robot released by Tesla last year. Its design goal is to be able to perform some dangerous or boring tasks for humans, such as carrying heavy objects and purchasing groceries. Optimus is 1.8 meters tall, weighs 57 kilograms, and has a top speed of 8 kilometers per hour. It is equipped with Tesla’s self-developed neural network and computer vision technology.
Tesla says the Optimus robotic display units in its stores are not actual working prototypes, but merely showcases the company’s vision for future products. Currently, the company is developing several working prototypes in the laboratory, but it is not clear when it will be officially released to the market. It was noticed that Tesla plans to first use Optimus robots in its own factories to improve production efficiency. It is reported that the company plans to deploy “thousands” of humanoid robots in its factories.
The reason why Tesla displays Optimus in the store is to use people’s curiosity about robots to increase attention to its automotive products.
