October 29, 2019 – The Model Y, Tesla’s crossover sport utility electric vehicle that launched in March 2019 and began deliveries the following year, quickly replaced the Model 3 as Tesla’s top-selling electric vehicle in some markets after its launch.
As production ramped up, the electric car even replaced the classic fuel model as the best-selling car in some markets, and in the first quarter of this year, was the best-selling car in Europe and the global market.
In September, Tesla Model Y was the best-selling car in Europe, despite a decline in sales, the foreign media reported, citing data from the agency.
According to the agency’s data, the Model Y registered sales of 26,370 units in Europe in September, a decline of 8%.
The agency’s data also shows that the Model Y continued to outsell other models in Europe last month, meaning that Tesla’s electric car has been the best-selling model in Europe for six of the past nine months.
Top sales in 6 out of 9 months means that the Tesla Model Y has had good sales in the European market in the first 9 months of this year. The agency’s data shows that the Model Y sold 151,191 units in Europe from January to August this year, and counting September’s 26,370 units, 177,561 units were sold in Europe in the first nine months alone.
After the Berlin Gigafactory and Texas Gigafactory went into production, Model Y is the car with the most production plants under Tesla and is produced in all four of its factories. After a significant increase in production, it’s no surprise that this electric car, which is already in strong demand, has become the best-selling car in Europe and other markets.
