Tesla’s all-electric SUV Model Y has begun deliveries in Singapore, TESLARATI reported today. In June, Tesla opened reservations for the Tesla Model Y in Singapore, Japan, Australia and New Zealand, and recently began delivering the new vehicle.

Tesla reportedly offers two configurations of the Model Y in Singapore, with the Model Y rear-wheel drive (RWD) version starting at S$91,990 (approximately RMB 453016) and the Model Y performance version starting at S$110,990 (approximately RMB 546583). If customers order the Model Y now, it is expected to be delivered by the end of this year.

The Tesla Model Y sold in Singapore is reportedly made in the Shanghai Super Factory. Currently, Tesla is exhibiting the model at ION Orchard, a shopping mall in Singapore. Last year, as the Model 3 began deliveries in Singapore, Tesla began installing infrastructure such as Superchargers in Singapore.

CleanTechnica data shows that in July this year, Model Y sales ranked second in the global pure electric car, after the Wuling Hong Guang MINI EV. Tesla CEO Elon Musk has previously said that the Model Y will be Tesla’s best-selling electric car.

In 2021 Tesla delivered 936,200 units worldwide, of which Tesla China delivered a total of 484,100 units, which means that the Shanghai Super Factory contributed over 50% of the production. According to drone observers @SawyerMerritt and @Wu Wa, there were at least 10,000 Model 3s and Model Ys waiting to be shipped at the Shanghai port on Aug. 21.
