According to foreign media reports, after a long wait, and many delays, Tesla’s electric truck Semi, launched in November 2017, officially started delivery in December last year.
The Semi, which began deliveries on December 1 last year, has already delivered dozens of units, but some of the vehicles have defective parts and will be recalled, according to the latest reports.
Tesla has delivered more than 35 Semi, stemming from a recall announced by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced on its website late last month that Tesla is recalling some Semi manufactured in 2023 and replacing the defective parts free of charge due to a defective parking brake valve module that may not operate as expected, increasing the risk of a crash.
From the information disclosed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, there are 35 Semi’s potentially affected by the parking brake valve module defect, and all of them were produced this year, which means that Tesla has delivered at least 35 units of this electric truck this year alone, counting the part delivered in December of last year, it will be even higher.
Since the electric truck, Semi has not been delivered for a long time, and there is still a significant gap between deliveries and Tesla’s other four-passenger cars, the production and delivery figures for the Semi were not given in the quarterly production and delivery figures announced on Sunday local time.
It’s worth noting that while Tesla is recalling 35 defective electric truck Semi’s, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has not received any complaints about defects and this is a voluntary recall by Tesla.
