Tesla officials have refused to adopt Apple’s CarPlay for many years, but the booming Tesla community has emerged with a variety of customization and DIY solutions.
The most dazzling and noteworthy among them is the “Tesla Android” open-source project, which is an open-source operating system that can bring CarPlay support and a series of other functions to Tesla vehicles.
Tesla Android” open source project is based on Raspberry Pi solutions and provides various support based on customized Android ROM.
After more than a year of system updates, Michał Gapiński, the main person in charge of the project, recently launched the Compute Module 4 Bundle. Users no longer need to modify the Raspberry Pi and other devices by themselves. The price is 309 euros (currently about 2364 RMB)
The official description reads: “No complicated assembly required. Bundles come pre-assembled and ready to use right out of the box to enhance your Tesla experience. From the LTE modem to the CarPlay module, every accessory is professionally installed and ready for use.” It’s as easy as plug and play.”
