The Tata Nexon electric vehicle recently broke the sales milestone of 35,000 units in India. Tata Motors made a subtle mockery of rival Mahindra during the celebration, teasing the upcoming launch of Mahindra’s XUV400 electric SUV. The Mahindra XUV400 has been unveiled and will enter the market in January next year in three variants.
After 2 years since its launch in 2020, Tata Nexon EV has crossed the sales milestone of over 35,000 units, cementing itself as the EV brand in the electric four-wheeler segment in India.
The Tata Nexon EV MAX long-range version is a compact SUV under 4 meters, equipped with a 40.5kWh battery pack, faster 7.2kW charging, 437km cruising range certified by ARAI, all four wheels type brake.
The upcoming Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV, which is yet to be launched in India, will compete with the likes of the Tata Nexon EV Prime and Tata Nexon EV MAX. The Mahindra XUV400 will feature a 150 hp motor, 2 battery pack options, AdrenoX connectivity platform, an updated design, etc. The body will be longer than 4 meters.
The two Indian automakers have been feuding for decades in the SUV segment. Indeed, Mahindra and its company chairman have been open about a healthy competitive relationship between the two homegrown companies.
