Tamron today launched a 70-180mm F2.8 large-aperture telephoto zoom lens suitable for Sony E-mount, named “70-180mm F/2.8 DillVC VXD G2”. This lens will be available on October 12th.
In terms of parameters, this lens uses 20 lenses in 15 groups, with F22~F2.8 aperture (9 aperture blades), ɸ67mm filter (maximum diameter 83mm), supports 70-180mm focal length and 34°21′-13° 42′ viewing angle, 156.5mm long, 855g weight.
In addition, the minimum shooting distance of this lens is 0.3m (wide-angle end)/0.85m (telephoto end), and the maximum photography magnification is 1:2.6 (wide-angle end)/1:4.7 telephoto end).
According to reports, this product is newly equipped with Tamron’s own VC optical anti-shake mechanism. The optical system has been redesigned based on the first-generation product A056 to achieve uncompromising high image quality throughout the entire focal length. The minimum shooting distance at the wide-angle end has also been successfully shortened from 0.85m in the first generation to 0.3m, allowing you to experience the different picture performance brought by the lens. Its AF drive system is equipped with a high-speed and high-precision linear motor focusing mechanism VXD. It is noticed that it can also use Tamron’s independently developed special software TAMRON Lens Utility and TAMRON Lens Utility Mobile to customize functional settings for various shooting styles such as photos and videos.
